Among the fixtures are Mary Jane Berlin as Germany’s largest hemp fair, the Cultiva Hanfexpo in Vienna, CannaTrade in Zurich and the Cannafair in Düsseldorf. They are joined by younger formats such as the CB Expo in Dortmund, the CannaFriends and HAMCAN in Hamburg.

If it is your first time at a cannabis fair: set aside a whole day for the large ones, wear comfortable shoes and plan the expert talks in advance. The talks are usually the most valuable part and run in parallel to the exhibition.

Cannabis festival: culture, music and lifestyle

A cannabis festival combines music, art and lifestyle with hemp culture. It is less about business than about atmosphere: a stage programme, food stalls, exhibitors and an audience that spends the day together rather than working through appointments. The calendar includes the Cannafestival in Karlsruhe and the Ruhr Reggae Summer, among others. Festivals without an explicit cannabis focus, such as SummerJam at Fühlinger See, have traditionally been part of the scene as well.

Cannabis conferences are aimed at a professional audience. Doctors, lawyers, investors, pharmacies and companies meet to discuss medical cannabis, research, legislation and market developments. If you work with the subject professionally, this is where the information is densest.
