CB Expo 2026 – Europe’s Business Hub for the Cannabis Industry in Dortmund

The CB Expo – Cannabis Business Expo & Conference returns to Dortmund (Germany) in 2026, bringing the international cannabis sector together on one of Europe’s most important trade platforms from 15 to 17 September 2026. The event runs as part of InterTabac, the world’s largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories, creating a unique setting for business, innovation and networking.

📈 What is the CB Expo?

The CB Expo is a business expo and conference for the cannabis industry that focuses on trade visitors and market players across the entire value chain – from cultivation and processing through to distribution and regulation. It is a central platform for companies, service providers, investors and decision-makers who want to exchange ideas on trends, products and strategies.

  • 📅 Date: 15 – 17 September 2026

  • 📍 Venue: Messe Dortmund, Germany

💡 Highlights & Programme

🧑‍💼 Expo – Where the Industry Meets Innovation

At the exhibition, leading brands and exciting newcomers present their products, technologies, services and solutions from every area of the cannabis economy – from cultivation technology and medical applications to packaging and distribution solutions.

🎤 CB Conference – Knowledge & Trends

Running alongside the expo, the CB Conference offers a comprehensive programme of talks and discussions across several stages, featuring international experts.
Key topics include:

  • The planned legalisation of cannabis in Germany and other European countries

  • Hemp as a raw material and sustainable use

  • Medical cannabis and regulatory challenges

🤝 Networking & Side Events

Beyond the official programme, there are numerous networking opportunities such as lounges, evening events and side events, all designed to encourage exchange between industry professionals, investors and innovators.

🎯 Who Should Attend?

The CB Expo is aimed primarily at trade visitors and business players from across the cannabis ecosystem, including:

  • Companies in cultivation, production and processing

  • Medical service providers and pharmaceutical companies

  • Brands and product innovators in the CBD and hemp market

  • Investors, consultants and legal experts

  • Logistics, packaging and distribution partners in the sector

This event is less geared towards end consumers and instead serves above all as a venue for professional exchange, networking and business collaboration within a rapidly evolving industry.

📝 Why the CB Expo is a Must

The CB Expo 2026 offers one of the most concentrated insights into the future development of the European cannabis economy. By combining a trade fair, a conference programme and side events, it generates valuable momentum for business development, product innovation and regulatory understanding – particularly at a time when the industry stands before important strategic decisions.

👉 Tip: If you’re active in the cannabis business or want to position yourself strategically, the CB Expo 2026 belongs in your event calendar!

Dates are verified

We check date, venue and ticket status with the organiser before publishing. Cancellations and reschedules are kept up to date.

Every format in the scene

Trade fair, congress, festival, demonstration and community meet-up. Whatever belongs to cannabis culture is collected here.

Germany and Europe

Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, Zurich, Prague, Bilbao. The major international dates are in the calendar too.

Cannabis events at a glance

This page is all about events around cannabis and hemp. Whether you follow the industry, want to connect with like-minded people or simply need to know when the next fair near you takes place: the calendar above lists all upcoming dates chronologically, with filters for category and location.

The cannabis scene has grown considerably in recent years, and so has the number of events. Since the German Cannabis Act, the established trade fairs have been joined by ever more regional formats: club meetings, information evenings held by cultivation associations, expert talks and festivals. To help you keep track, we sort every date by format.

Hemp fair and cannabis fair: where the industry meets

Trade fairs are where the industry meets itself. Manufacturers show new products, cultivation associations look for suppliers, trade visitors compare equipment, and everyone else gets an overview in one afternoon that would otherwise take weeks to assemble. The German-speaking region now has a dense network of fairs.

Among the fixtures are Mary Jane Berlin as Germany’s largest hemp fair, the Cultiva Hanfexpo in Vienna, CannaTrade in Zurich and the Cannafair in Düsseldorf. They are joined by younger formats such as the CB Expo in Dortmund, the CannaFriends and HAMCAN in Hamburg.

If it is your first time at a cannabis fair: set aside a whole day for the large ones, wear comfortable shoes and plan the expert talks in advance. The talks are usually the most valuable part and run in parallel to the exhibition.

Cannabis festival: culture, music and lifestyle

A cannabis festival combines music, art and lifestyle with hemp culture. It is less about business than about atmosphere: a stage programme, food stalls, exhibitors and an audience that spends the day together rather than working through appointments. For many people that is the more comfortable way into the scene.

The calendar includes the Cannafestival in Karlsruhe and the Ruhr Reggae Summer, among others. Festivals without an explicit cannabis focus, such as SummerJam at Fühlinger See, have traditionally been part of the scene as well.

Cannabis conference and industry events

Cannabis conferences are aimed at a professional audience. Doctors, lawyers, investors, pharmacies and companies meet to discuss medical cannabis, research, legislation and market developments. If you work with the subject professionally, this is where the information is densest.

Relevant dates include the ICBC Berlin, the Medicinal Cannabis Congress, World Class Cannabis Business Europe and, internationally, the MJBizCon in Las Vegas.

Hanfparade and community events

The Hanfparade in Berlin is Germany’s largest demonstration for hemp as a raw material, a medicine and a recreational substance, and has taken place since 1997. It stands for education, legalisation and social change, and combines activism with community spirit.

Then there is 420 on the twentieth of April, marked worldwide and spawning its own gatherings in many cities. Community events are usually the least complicated way in: no entrance fee, no jargon, and you meet people who can help with everything else.

All your weed is love.

Cannabis events internationally

If you are willing to travel, Europe offers some of the biggest dates there are. Spannabis in Bilbao is considered the most significant cannabis fair in Europe, and the Cannafest in Prague one of the best attended. In North America, NECANN, Hall of Flowers in California and the Champs Trade Show are fixtures.

When planning a fair abroad, factor in the legal situation at your destination. What may be shown and sold at a fair differs considerably from country to country, and the rules on taking anything across a border are strict everywhere.

Never miss a date again
